\na water meter and maintaining a specific metrological characteristic throughout the entire period of operation,
\na reliable and accurate reading of the water meter is of great importance. Common and very dynamic development
\nof electronic equipment allowed for remote readings of all types of utility meters. It has also revolutionized the readings
\ntechnology and changed the way of thinking about construction of meters. Stepping away from traditional, mechanical
\nmeters forces to change the way we evaluate measurement accuracy. New technologies pose a great challenge for
\nthe formal evaluation of efficiency of meters (legal metrological audit). The article presents the research on the accuracy
\nof indications of water meters after a five-year operational period and after re-verification and another five-year period
