\nsystems. Such situations are burdensome for inhabitants, and also may cause considerable material losses. The
\npaper presents one of the possible technical solutions ensuring reliable outflow of wastewater to the receiver, namely
\nthe energy-saving retention and transfer reservoir. When the gravitational outflow is limited, the task of the transfer
\nreservoir is to store a certain volume of wastewaters and discharge them to receiving waters. Wastewater is
\ntransferred with the use of a system of compressors and an appropriate combination of pumping systems. During
\nlow flows wastewaters are conveyed gravitationally to receiving waters through the transit chamber.
\nThis article presents the principle of operation of the transfer reservoir in the energy-saving version. The effect of
\nenergy-saving operation of the reservoir is obtained during the process of equalizing the air pressure in both
\nstorage chambers of the reservoir isolated from the atmosphere.
