\nopen urban reservoirs. They are distinguished by their aesthetic value, belong to nature-based solutions, improve the
\nmicroclimate, and, most importantly, have a cleansing function. However, in the Polish nomenclature, floating
\ntreatment islands solutions have yet to be precisely classified. There are also no specific design guidelines. This
\narticle attempts to explain the method\u2019s concept, classify the system of Floating Treatment Wetlands, discuss the basic
\npollutant removal mechanisms, and discuss selected design issues.
