In the case of carrying out works related to driving sheet piles in the vibration technology located in close proximity
to active high-pressure gas pipelines, continuous measurement and analysis of vibrations must be performed. One
should remember ground conditions are unpredictable which may result in sharp increase in the size of mechanical
vibrations, and thus the risk of failure of an active high pressure gas pipeline. The analyzed results of the mechanical
vibration tests recorded during the execution of sheet piling for the protection of excavations clearly show that the
works were carried out in a safe manner and the recorded vibration values did not have a negative impact on the
existing high-pressure gas pipeline.
