The analysis indicates that thermal water with a temperature of approx. 85oC can be expected in the sub-Carpathian village of Wiśniowa. It could be extracted in the amount of about 180 m3/h from geological formations of the Lower Cretaceous lying at the depth of about 4106 – 4226 m under the ground. Both its temperature and productivity are at the upper limits of the thermal waters discovered so far in Poland. The Wiśniowa GT-1 well may provide a source of geothermal heat with a capacity of approximately 13.6 MW. The cost of drilling the Wiśniowa GT-1 well, per 1 kW of extractable thermal power, is about PLN 3 400 net.
