The main objective of this analysis of water test results was to assess the performance of water purification systems in
three facilities with multiple swimming pool basins (sports, leisure, wading and spa baths). Evaluation applies to
different facilities in terms of the period of operation and the implemented methods of treating the pool water. Two of
the indoor pools have had these systems upgraded and the third is new. The water treatment installations used
pressure filters but with different filtering materials and in two cases assisted by UV irradiation, and in the newest
facility without these devices. The water parameters in the various basins of the studied pools were mostly in line
with the current quality standards set out in the 2015 Regulation of the Minister of Health. Analysing the test results,
it can be concluded that maintaining acceptable water quality parameters is very difficult and almost impossible
when using the simplest technological purification systems. The most frequently occurring problem was too high level
of free and bound chlorine and the existence of chloroform. The use of low-pressure UV reactors to support the
disinfection of water entering the pool is an important process for improving these pool water quality parameters.
